Sapiex Shopify Apps

This section of our Privacy Policy applies specifically to merchants who install and use the apps developed by Sapiex Technologies (Sapiex Store Locator and others) on the Shopify App Store.

What Information We Collect and Store

We are committed to operating a highly secure, privacy-first service. To run the app, we only collect and store the minimum amount of data required:

  • Merchant & Shop Metadata: We store the Shopify store’s permanent domain (e.g., your-store.myshopify.com), a unique shop ID, and an offline access token. This token is used solely to securely communicate with Shopify’s APIs, manage your subscription billing, and authenticate your admin session.
  • Store Locations (Merchant-Provided Data): We store the physical store information you upload or input into the app’s admin dashboard. This includes store names, physical addresses, latitude/longitude coordinates (for rendering maps), contact emails, phone numbers, business hours, WhatsApp contact numbers, and custom text descriptions.
  • App Configuration Settings: We store the merchant-provided Google Maps API key to ensure your store locator displays the interactive Google Map using your own API key credentials.
What We DO NOT Collect or Store

Your customers’ privacy is paramount. Sapiex Store Locator does not track, collect, or store any storefront customer Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

  • We do not collect customer names, email addresses, shipping/billing addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, or location data.
  • We do not track or record customer browsing habits, order histories, cart contents, or purchase events.
  • When a customer uses the storefront locator to search for a store (e.g., searches by city or state), the search query is processed instantly to return the closest locations. We do not store or track individual buyer search history.
Data Protection and Deletion (App Uninstallation)
  • Secure Storage: All stored merchant metadata and store locations are saved in highly secure, industry-standard databases using encrypted connections.
  • Immediate Deletion on Uninstall: When you uninstall the app from your Shopify store, our system automatically receives Shopify’s app/uninstalled webhook. We immediately delete all of your store locations from our active databases and revoke/clear our cached data.
  • GDPR Compliance: We fully participate in Shopify’s mandatory GDPR compliance webhooks. Because our app stores exactly zero customer PII, any customer data requests or redaction requests forwarded by Shopify will yield no records, which we handle and confirm securely.
